About Sonshine Therapy
Established in 2008, Sonshine Therapy is a pediatric clinic, located in Savannah, GA, dedicated to serving our community through speech, physical, occupational, and feeding therapy. We offer services to children with speech, feeding, fine and gross motor delays, including, but not limited to Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, feeding/swallowing impairments, sensory disorders, Torticollis, Apraxia, Articulation, Fluency, and Voice disorders. Sonshine Therapy also offers assessments and treatment for children who are in need Augmentative, Alternative Communication (AAC) Devices to help them better communicate their wants and needs, while their speech continues to develop.
Our mission is “to teach, encourage, help and motivate children and their families to overcome challenges in a fun, efficient, educational way so they can achieve the most fulfilling life possible!” We believe that a child in need of therapeutic services affects the whole family, so we work to provide resources and assistance to both the child and the family as a whole.
Bethany Manning, the owner of Sonshine Therapy, has been a speech-language pathologist in Savannah since 2005. She is a Savannah native with four children, two biological and two adopted. One of Bethany’s daughters was born with a cleft lip and palate, while her other daughter was born legally blind, deaf and autistic with associated feeding difficulties. Her daughter who was born with a hearing impairment, later received cochlear implants. These personal challenges have given Bethany an understanding of the difficulties parents face with raising children who have special needs. These challenges have allowed her to shape Sonshine Therapy as a clinic that supports development in the clinic, and at home, to help push every family to the next steps.
The struggles and challenges Bethany has faced and continues to face to raise and nurture her typically developing children, as well her children with special needs is what makes her, and her team at Sonshine Therapy uniquely qualified to come alongside you and your child to encourage you, evaluate, and treat your child, so your whole family can be their very best! Our team at Sonshine Therapy is dedicated to assisting you in any way we can, with treatment, homework, progress notes, specialized equipment ordering and use, etc. Our goal is always to help you and your child ease burdens and overcome challenges.
